The municipal council in Billund increases focus and urgency on climate efforts in 2022.

Billund aims to be carbon neutral in 2050, among other things by joining the DK2020 project in 2021. In the city of Billund’s climate plan, a special focus is placed on the areas of energy, agriculture and transport. The plan will implement ambitious actions towards a climate-neutral municipality.

The municipality’s Energy and Climate Council works, among other things, with the Billund Symbiosis and further development of the current, strong collaboration between local companies and organizations, where raw materials, heat, water / wastewater and other resources are shared between companies. These initiatives benefits climate and the environmental concerns and strengthens the competitiveness of local businesses.
