Vejle Port

Vejle Port wants to be at the forefront of the green transition and is embarking on an ambitious project that will motivate companies to actively get started with the capture and storage of carbon (CCS). The project is called Artemis and is our take on how we can contribute to a 70% reduction of carbon compared to the levels in 1990.

Our primary focus has been on making companies aware of the possibilities with carbon capture, but also to give them knowledge about carbon capture as both a commercial and environmentally friendly option. Vejle Port wants to be an active contributor in this logistics chain and will offer to build storage facilities that can ensure storage options for carbon before local use or shipping. The port is a natural part of the value chain and the solution to the major climate challenges in our society and is ready to invest in the future. Central location and optimal logistical conditions make us an attractive partner for the surrounding parts of the Triangle area.

In addition to our climate goals commitment and Sustainable Global Goals 9, 11 and 12, the realization of this project will create growth for all partners while developing a new sustainable model for carbon base on circular economy. The backbone of the project will be a business partnership of carbon capture between the city of Vejle, Vejle Port, and companies in and around Vejle.
